“What’s this?” asked a panting Seokjin. “Come back to gloat? Want another battle?”
“A peace offering.” Hoseok produced a pink tennis ball, which sparkled in the fluorescent lights of the court.
“My lucky ball!” Seokjin snatched it and shoved it in his pocket. “I couldn’t think where I’d lost it.”
“You didn’t. My overzealous trainer decided to engage in sabotage without my consent,” said Hoseok. “I am deeply sorry. For what it’s worth, I fired him. I want to win on my own merits or not win at all.”
“For the love of the game, hm?”
“Something like that.”
“So now I suppose you’re in the market for a new trainer?”
“Yes,” said Hoseok with a heavy sigh. “The search is not something I’m looking forward to. I’ll think about that tomorrow.”
“Jungkook might take you on.”
“Wouldn’t that be a conflict of interest?”
“Not if we were on the same team. Hoseok, do you know why the couple chose tennis for their first date?”
Hoseok frowned, then smiled, then shook his head.
“Because it was a courtship!”
Hoseok laughed. “That’s an awful joke.”

“If we’re going to be on the same team…”
