Ichirou didn't waste any time voicing his opinion on the matter. “Mister Wesninski, these rumors about your relationship with that goaltender is costing us some valuable endorsements. Were you and your... friend not valuable assets to the Moriyama enterprise, I would not care how you spent your time, but as it is...”
“I understand. Andrew and I will use more discretion in the future. And it's Josten. Not Wesninski.” Ichirou waved a dismissal and one of Moriyama's security team escorted Neil to his car.
“It would be fine if Neil didn't look like he'd been sprinkled with fairy dust every time he looked at Andrew,” Nicky said later that day.
“I don't look at you like that,” said Neil.
“I hate you,” said Andrew.
Nicky pointed at Andrew. “Like that, Neil. That is how you have to look. I don't get it. You hid from the freaking mob for most of your life and this is hard for you.”
“We may have over-corrected Neil's honesty,” said Andrew.
Neil flipped him off.
“Relax8. Another week and we'll be on different teams on different sides of the country and you'll be offering 'no comment' responses to anyone who gets too nosy,” Andrew said.
“And still, young female Exy fans all over the country will be writing fan fiction compromising the two of you right and left,” said Nicky.
“No one has lost an endorsement due to fan fiction.”
“That you know of,” said Nicky.
“Ichirou doesn't read it and that's the main thing,” said Neil. “All we have to remember is that it's 'no' when we're out in public.”
“Ninety-nine point nine percent, Josten,” Andrew said.
“I'll take the point one, Minyard.” Neil gave him a soft smile.
On the other side of the room, Nicky sighed.
