Jean replied, “Cat and Laila have departed for a getaway vacation. At least that's what Cat said. Don't they know we have practice tomorrow?”
“I'm sure they cleared it with Coach.”
“This is highly unorthodox. No Raven would ever...”
“...do anything fun. We've gotten the memo. Sometimes people just need a break.”
“Well, it's...”
“If you think about it, they're giving you a bit of a vacation too.”
“I don't need one.”
“I'm not saying you need to go away, Jean. Just enjoy the peace and quiet in the house by yourself.” Jeremy glanced at Jean who looked stricken at his comment.
“Or I could stay over for a few nights, keep you company. We could watch bad movies and you could cook healthy food for me.”
“All right,” agreed Jean. “But only because I don't want you left to your own devices.”
