Cordelia surveyed herself in the mirror. Was there something different about her? She hadn't meant to kiss Xander Harris. Twice. It had happened and now it was behind her. She hoped it was behind her. Because if she had to think about it... no. No. It was too strange. She wasn't any different. She was still the most popular girl at Sunnydale High and no boy was going to change that fact.

But... his lips were soft. She hadn't expected that. He didn't kiss anything like she expected.

For goodness sake, Cordelia, stop thinking about that kiss. And those strong arms of his. And the way that he made you feel safe for that moment when you were hiding. Like he could take care of anything for you.

Like he wasn't the same guy that started the 'Cordelia Chase Haters Club'.

But he wasn't. And she wasn't the same girl either, no matter if she looked the same or not.

Oh that was so good. I loved Cordelia. One of my favorite characters ever. Just wish she had a happier ending.
