Summary: Getting a pair of sunglasses is the start of the adjustments Jean will have to make in L.A.
Los Angeles was too bright for Jean's liking. The sky was a perfect, cloudless blue, and the sunshine hurt his eyes.
“We'll need to get you some sunglasses,” said Jeremy.
Jean hadn't agreed with him on a lot, but found himself nodding when Jeremy made the suggestion.
“Does the team allow it?”
“Not on the field, of course. We wouldn't want you losing an eye if one of the Ra- people on the other team gets a little rough.”
“It is not getting rough if it means playing the game the way it was meant to be played.”
“Have you ever thought there might be more than one way to play Exy?”
“There is only one right way and that is how I was taught.”
“Jean, you agreed-”
“I agreed to play the game you would like it played. I never agreed to believe that the way you play is better than what I learned. You will realize that when you lose again.”
Jeremy sighed. He wondered if he could convince Jean that the team was required to wear sunglasses with crimson frames. He wouldn't mind bringing a little more color into the man's life.
