Jean didn't know how Neil managed to survive the Nest with that mouth of his. He was always pushing buttons that, if he was smart, he wouldn't have dared. Jean begged him to not speak, knowing that whatever happened to Neil would happen to him as well. They were paired up after all.
Jean wished he could have had some choice in the matter, but it was not his place. He was a Moreau, here to serve the Moriyamas. He did not make waves.
Silence was one of Jean's keys to survival. He didn't talk back, wasn't allowed to speak to the press, and tried to never, ever cry out in pain or anger. He bore the burden of this life.
He would endure.
