“Done!” exclaimed Spike, emptying the chopping board into a bowl.
“Thank you for sparing me the tears,” said Buffy, mashing the potatoes.
He put the knife and board into the sink. “As your husband I indirectly vowed to spare you the trouble of chopping onions when I married you.”
“Is that a complaint?” she asked, crossing her arms.
Spike pulled her in for a passionate kiss. “I’ll chop onions for you every day of my existence if that’s what makes you happy.”
“Just Thanksgiving will do,” she beamed. “Why don’t we make blossoms with the remaining onions?”
“I love you.”
