Title: Evil Lightbulb

“That’s it. Your flickering days are over,” grumbled Spike, grabbing a ladder. “No more sodding light-and-shadow shows in my basement.”
Buffy watched from the doorway, a smirk curving her lips. “That’s not an evil lightbulb, Spike. It’s just about to burn out.”
He placed the ladder under it. “And I’m about to put it out of its misery.”
“Want some help, hon?”
Spike scoffed, climbing the ladder. “I think I can handle a bloody lightbulb, pet.”
As he reached up to unscrew the bulb, the ladder wobbled and Spike muttered a string of curses, trying and failing to steady himself.
“Bollocks! Bloody hell!” he exclaimed when the ladder gave way, sending him tumbling to the floor.
Buffy couldn’t help but burst into laughter, clutching her stomach at the sight of Spike sprawled on the ground, ladder on top.
“Glad you’re enjoying the show, pet.”
Spike glared at her, but a hint of amusement in his eyes betrayed his mood. He loved the sound of her laughter, even if it came at his expense.
Buffy offered him a hand. “Come on, together we’ll beat the evil lightbulb that tried to slay you. Piece of cake.”
“You’re not funny, pet,” he groaned.
